Cihat Fitzgerald

As a member of the Visa Franchise Risk Management (FRM) team, Cihat’s role is centered on the interdiction of illegal and brand-damaging activity from Visa payment system. His responsibilities include leading a team operating in a suite of risk compliance programs and providing leadership in an array of global fraud mitigation efforts. In addition, Cihat has ownership of the Visa Global Acquirer Risk Standards (GARS), which mandate minimum risk requirements for Visa acquirers worldwide. Cihat possesses 21 years of payment experience with emphasis on acquiring operations, risk management, and compliance. Prior to Visa, Cihat was Vice President at Westamerica Bank where he managed all facets of acquiring operations. Cihat holds a B.Sc. in Business Administration from the University of Cape Town.
